PS3 - Sony's push for Blu-Ray ??

With the whole world eagerly waiting for the much expected PS3 launch from Sony, is it a marketing tact of the gaming major to push their own standard - Blu-Ray ?
I think so. I feel PS3 will pose a strong threat to the M$'s XBOX 360.
